What is bravery to you?

Post by Machiavelli2 »

Bravery comes in many different forms and shapes, what is bravery to you? Who and what do you consider brave-bravery? For example, forgive me of my use of this analogy especially to both of these brothers. To brother Bandit, Bravery could be construed to be when he talks face to face to the girl of his dreams. He finds the courage, confidence to approach her and express to her his inner feelings towards her. On the other hand, bravery to brother Hyper can be when he has such dreams and interprets as coming from Shaytan's beautification of ugly deeds and resists those temptations.

Bravery to many of us has different meanings, it could be being fearless, being strong minded, high tolerance to endurance, being heroic and saving lives. how do you define it based on your character.

N.B

Apologies to the two brothers above in my analogy.

Ina Adeer, what do you mean, bal ii faahfaahi.

As an abstract discussion, there are many variances of bravery depending on situations. There are emotional and physical fear. We all have both of these fears whether they are real or imagined. Many of us fear dogs. Some do take actions to quel these fear that sometimes requires action which the consequence could be frightening. Others have the mental endurance not to react with action. For example, in a situation where violence is involved, some may impulsively react physically and others either apologise or walk away. Is the latter fuley and the former brave? Is a person's bravery be termed as a cowardly act?

Ina Adeer

Does Basra own guns? I might take the 'hardcore mode'.

Unselfishness - a brave person for me is a one who puts their own wants/needs/desires last for the sake of others.

A great example, since you know you can beat the crap of the little person, ignoring them is a better option. Bigger dogs ignore the barking threats of the smaller dogs.

Anger doesn't always mean physical confrontations, a better example is when when your parents gave that you the silent treatment, personally speaking that always hurt more than any beating.

Can you elaborate further because most humans will run for their lives once they assess the situation and find out the odds against them is great. Not afraid to die in that kind of situation could be construed as suicidal.

Theguardian

Ina Adeer, you are right, selfishness could be considered a great attribute of bravery.

NotThatAbdi

Ina Adeer, the bravery is to control your anger and cause no further damage be they physical or emotional. There are many other ways to chastise a misbehaving child other than screams and insults towards them, though sometimes it's unavoidable, when they take risks that could cause them self-harm.

I think bravery is when you steal your enemy clans Camels and then pay those camels back as meher to marry the daughter of the chief caqil of the very same clan you stole it from , now that's gangsta.

When you tell you ex bae he wasn't man enough and your current bae is better than him.
Bravery also means saying what's in your heart and not being afraid to speak up.
