Ina Adeer what do you mean? The description of bravery varies, & openly expressing views contrary to the opinions of your friends, family, community or humanity in general will attract different reactions from them including "hate". It's socially and subjectively constructed. Since you are endowed with great knowledge of our culture, what is bravery to you within the Somali context?

Alpha

Ina Adeer waad iga qosliisey. Why not? People believe bravery to be many different and contradictory things.

Idman

Ina Adeer, I agree that speaking up for yourself and others who are weak and can't speak for themselves is bravery, but at what cost? How about if you will lose your job or you might go to prison if you become a whistleblower on their behalf?

Can you elaborate further because most humans will run for their lives once they assess the situation and find out the odds against them is great. Not afraid to die in that kind of situation could be construed as suicidal.
Your right most people will run for their life if the odds are against them and there life is in danger but most humans should not be considered brave. Unless your willing to gamble with your life you shouldn't be considered brave in any sense

I am learning to do that at the moment - it is a lot harder than people think- so yeah it is bravery in sense.
Definitely.

A great example, since you know you can beat the crap of the little person, ignoring them is a better option. Bigger dogs ignore the barking threats of the smaller dogs.
True.Like seeing someone act being and mighty and u get the chance to drop them a notch but choose to move on. :blessed:

Standing up for what you believe in, even in the face of temptation.

Ina Adeer, that is very true, I know a doctor who is in his 70's and volunteers to work in the most inhospitable places in the world to contribute to the wellbeing of those who are disadvantaged rather than enjoying his retirement. There are many people out there like him.

Games

Ina Adeer

That is very true, bravery comes in many forms. Also, when the conditions of humans change, be it their education attainment and wealth accumulation, many do change and become self centric.

Bandit

Ina Adeer, waad iga qosliisey because I'm one of those who will run faster than Usain Bolt if my life was in danger. Laakiin buufiska naga yaree.

Chelsea

lol

Ina Adeer, if they root for Arsenal or Man City waa ilma Abti, couldn't say them ilma Adeer. lol

MissFiora

Ina Abti, this thread is all about bravery, Marka geesiyad iska dhigoo oo so fiican iigu tuf. The only chance you have.

2 questions for all.

If your clan is fighting another, if you have a chance to do so, will you participate in the war or abstain from it? How about if your clan are the aggressors or the other clan is the aggressor?

I think rape survivors are brave...I read that a woman who dies fighting off a rapist (meaning he kills her) dies a martyr/shaahiid. I think living with the memory of it is like being a martyr while you're still living.

Bravery also means saying what's in your heart and not being afraid to speak up.

:)
That's why insecure men hate women who had pervious parent/s .... And go for virgins who know no better.
