Need the English Name for this Wild Cat in Somalia

In Somalia, there is this wild cat called Dhulukh-dhalakh. It is mostly found in mountains & forests. I believe it is an indigenous animal to Somalia that has not been fully documented. It is somewhat smaller than the shabeel (Leopard), but thicker and bigger than the other smaller cats. It also has the same marks as the shabeel.

P.S. It is not haram-cad (cheetah).

If you have any information on this animal, please share it.

I am trying to see if it is in or needs to be added to the list of endangered species in all of Somali territories.

Serval? I don't think so because the ones that I used to see backhome was much thicker and stronger than the serval. It also had shorter legs.

If its found in mountains, than its definitely a mountain lion.

They also live in California and have been known to attack humans.

Never heard of it and what mountains in Somalia did you see them?

Btw shabeel is tiger not leopard.

Hawdian there's no name for tiger in Somali as there are no tigers in Africa

Thugo, I was very young when I last I saw it. In Nugaal and Sanaag, people call it Dhulukh Dhalakh. I will still research it but may be it is the Serval Cat. Btw, in areas that I used to see it was where the mountains and savanah meat. It is also found in forest where it can find a good hide out.
