the real Somaliland CORE is that silk road from berbera-hargeisa-gebiley-wajale. every penny should be invested in that area to get quick profit. The rest is sadaqo jaariya. Even if you become our leader tommoraw you would have invested that area more than any where else in Somaliland.

We need one big port in berbera. one major airport in hargeisa , Corridor to wajaale and intensive farming projects around gebiley to feed the huge population of hargeisa. simple somaliland oo dhan way dheregtay markaas.
This is nonsense. Firstly, development should be spread evenly throughout the region to avoid political conflict and for ecological and environmental reasons. Second, Berbera airport makes more sense than Hargeisa because Berbera is more central, a port city and better connected to the Central and Eastern regions. Every city (except Erigavo) is easily accessible from Berbera. Lastly, every region has good economic potential and you should remember that agriculture is only one small industry, the mainstay of the Somali economy is livestock and it is the central and eastern regions that contribute the vast majority of livestock exported.
True, plus JSL in gerenal is only okay for seasonal farming and what not. We shouldn't be a agricultural driven nation, not a livestock one. We should check for mining but focus on industries that produce stuff. We have a small population and need to focus on sectors that we can do all year around. And also boasting population ie healthcare.

Good to hear.

Burco is better than Hargeisa no buts and ifs.

the only place that we can establish alternative beatifull capital city is sheikh. hargeisa is like Rio de Janeiro. once we solve that water problem there is nothing like hargeisa.

Dumbest Idea I heard of.

SOMALILAND IS NOT A RECOGONIZED NATION WITH MONEY. WE LACK ROADS AND TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE MAKING ONE AIRPORT A BAD IDEA.

You know how long it takes to get from Hargeisa to Ceerigabo and what not. Hargiesa can support the west and Burco the east for now.

Ethiopia has many airports

You too busy thinking about habar and habro issues and you missed what I wrote.

Ethiopia does have small domestic airports and I never said it doesn't.

Only Addis is international gateway meaning only Addis handles international and most regional flights. The airports in Bahir Dar, Meqelle and Jigjiga----handle small domestic flights to and from similar towns. Almost always they start from Addis.

I didn't say SL towns don't need small airports either but their airports shouldn't be compared to Hargeisa nor should they take funds from Egal which is more important.

Egal should be of priority.

We seem to share a lot of philosophies & ideas. Unfortunate that you are pro-Ethiopian. You probably have an Ethiopian mother/wife/girlfriend, there is no other explanation for your obsession with the country.

P.S: When you relinquish your pro-Ethiopian tendencies, you will be welcomed into the Somali family. :)
Who are you sxb?

That's good that you're inline with some of my views but I never saw your username or theories. The Futurist is good name and probably summons what you are into.

And for your info, I'm not pro-Ethiopia, I am an Ethiopian national.

There is difference.

I am pro-Rwanda.

i agree with somaliland needing 1 major airport, the money being used for the second airport should be used to build better highways from hargeysa to boorame to berbera burco CEERIGAABO laascanood to garowe..

i highlighted ceerigaabo because its almost cut of from the rest of the nation due to lack of roads..

i dont understand puntland building a major airport in bosaso AND garowe..since garowe is the centre of the kingdom you might aswell built the airport there which can attract business from as far as burco ilaa caabudwaaq iyo dhuusomareeb and build in bosaso a bigger and a better port.. :hijack:

burco is few hours away from hargeysa those 13 big dollars can be used for so many other better projects OUTSIDE hargeysa, roads to sanaag perhaps before isaaq in sanaag get reer bari accent..

just my two cents

puntland is not very centralized as Somaliland. its like every puntland city is an indepedent city withing federal state. Lool. i.mean you have bosaso in that corner making business as usual. you have galkacyo in the other side strugling against its own badhaxley. garowe have actully no full authority over those cities. thats why bosaso is getting more development projects. garowe needs small run way where govermental delegations gets in and out of garowe state house . i think it was the right decission to invest bosaso airport.

LOL some comments in this thread is pure bulsh!t. We are not asking anyone what to do, reer Burco decided even government cannot do about it.

Keep in mind Burco is the third largest city in all Somaliland/Somalia. Many people say they would invest in this city, but without proper airport you can't do anything. There are no good roads between Hargeisa to Burco or Berbera to Burco.

Gawaadhida waaweyn aad bay ugu adagtay inay dawga soo macaan.

Kulmiye needs to foucus on the road from wajaale to hargeisa to berbera to Burco this road is the lifeline of the whole nation. The dooxs need bridges so that people don't endanger them self when they flood instead of foucusing on silly roads I.e dawgacad iyo kaan ceeriagabo, baligubudle iyo salaaxley these are all secondary projects compared to number 1ka which needs to be updated and improved badly

They are all community funded roads. The gov may help out a litle, but the money is raised by the diaspora and locals. They are not useless roads, there is no such thing as a useless road that goes from city to city.

I said silly not useless but this needs to be made a priority. The home grown funds could have been used for this road since everyone in Somaliland would benefit from it.. Regional airports is a must to

Hargeisa - Salahley road is going to be connecting with Awaare -Degeh Buur haven't you guys heard. It's just talk at the moment, but if that happens SL will have two corridors into Ethiopia.

I think the Hargeisa - Oodweyne - Burco road is much more important than the dangerous hilly SHeikh road.

Also I never understood Dawga Cad it's a tourist road, still it would be a nice asset.
