Most likely not. Our cultural norms are different. We're not habashis.

People like this Xamar chick are too shallow to reason with.

We have our own cultural biases and the habashis have their own. It's literally that simple. Just as a woman in niqab would most likely get harassed in a Christian neighborhoods in Addis because she does not dress according to the cultural standards of their community, similarly a woman who dresses in a way that goes against the cultural norms in Somalia would be pressurised to conform.

There is never any real freedom when it comes to these matters as societal pressures will attempt to force people to conform to the dominant mode of dress. There's merely the illusion of freedom because you can only choose from a set of pre-selected options that are provided by society.

^stop pretending like habashi Christians are accepting of Muslims when the truth is that they have severely oppressed Muslims in the past and still severely demonize Islam and Muslims. If a niqabi were to walk through a predominately Christian area, at the very least she would get stared at or made to feel uncomfortable.

On a side note

Man I miss Addis Ababa, that place is amazing when it comes to just chilling out with a coffee and hanging with friends.
