End of federalism?

Post by BigBreak »

Is this the end of (clan) federalism

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/afp/ar ... g-act.html
While Farmajo favours a strong central government, Somalia has in recent years shifted towards a system of federalism.

Why do you support federalism.

it only works with a civilised country.. not a country like somalia

because we need realpolitik, why have already spent resources on federal structure ,why undo it? if the people are happy, the gov should abide by the wil of the people, the era of central gov which every faction feels isolated is over.federalism is here to stay and hope farmajo is clever enough to understand.besides federalism takes away pressure of funds from mogadishu, only outside funds should be shared not locally generated funds, there is no way i will eat taxes collected from bosaso or jowhar and vice versa.

somalia is a homogenous place as nearly everyone is from one ethnic group and everyone is Muslim - there's no differences between clans to justify apartheid style segregation and bantustans

Fuck federalism it is cancer for small homogeneous countries like Somalia. If we were like China Russia and USA who are the 3 biggest countries in the world we would need Federalism but we are more like France and Italy

We need to be like Japan and Germany and othe countries with centralized power. They are homogeneous and a meritocracy.

We will never advance with federalism. Death to 4.5 death to federalism

it is the only way to balance check and also solves the status of SL as autonomous federal state as zanzibar in tanzania.

At this point of time, federalism is the only solution.

Less than a year you were advocating for K5 to be part of a federal state within Somalia :notsure:

And this comment within 3 days.

Who made you the spokes man of Dir? And weren't you calling Gadabursi Qudhunbuursi the other day? Nice flip flopping

We aren't going to force anyone sxb. Abasame land is already huge as is and we control the most strategic parts ie Jigjiga, the gas reserves and the Shabelle river. Wixii baxaya ha baxo

But before anything happens we will sign the land to Xamar, plant the blue flag everywhere and become a federal state of Somalia. Isaaq Dir Darood all will be part of Somalia by force

Nah that's just implication that I would rather be a federal state of Somalia than Ethiopia. Read between the lines next time

i agree with you, today i im more connected to hiirshabelle than xamar but one thing i disagree is FMS leaders going to abroad like the UAE. its ok to meet the diplomats in mogadishu and in their regions bc this weak govt cant cover economically with all regions.
