Why do Somalis either love Arabs or hate them?

I never met any Somali who didn't hate them so much or love them so much.
There's 2 type of Somalis:

1)Either they love them and wanna claim part Arab. Fascinated by them and get angry when people insult them. They cry for Syria and Palestine before their own countries. They dress like them. They throw little Arab words in their sentences to add spice to their lingo. They basically kiss a$$. They turn a blind eye to all the evil Arabs do.

2) The other ones hate them with every bone in their body. They always talk about how bad and racist Arabs are to Blacks. They used to be the first type and got dissed too many times. They act like they HAVE to deal with Arabs even though Arabs dont really give a fxcck about us and see us as they see other Blacks. They act like Somalia leaving the Arab league is gonna affect Arabs.

Both these types of Somalis to me have inferiority complex. I couldn't be the first because that's just disgrace and submissive behavior. I couldn't be the 2nd because hatred is just another way of caring. It takes too much energy from your life and not all Arabs are bad people. I couldn't hate or be racist to any racial group period but that's just me. I think Somalia being in the Arab league did a lot of damage to how we view ourselves as a people. Because there's Chinese and Mexicans who are racist to Blacks too. But you dont see Somalis bitching about them because your culture and society isn't dominated by them. I'm one of the few Somalis who dont care. Palestine, Libya, Saudia etc is about as relevant to me as Japan is.

The truth is Somalis just look up to Arabs. Its like a cool big brother type complex. Now if Somalia got their shyt together and Arab world became a shyt hole that would change. But its been the opposite Somalis running away from the Somali shyt hole to the rich, stable arabs. In Kuwait I was shocked to see how the new younger generations didn’t care about Westerners at all to the point that I stopped claiming American altogether in public and just claim Somali because things became easier. So with Somalis if they became wealthy overnight and Arab refugees were flooding in, begging on the streets things would change real quick and Somalis would start looking down on arabs not up. Loooll absolutely. The people with this cuqdad are the ones who live in the West. When you live with Arabs you realize they are just like anybody else they have their good and bad. Also as crazy as it is in school the kids here are taught Somalia is a Arab Country in school. I remember these young kuwaiti kids like 8 years old asking me where I was from I said Somalia. I asked do you know Somalia they were like ofcourse.


This is all different with Indians though. In the khaleej they look at Indians as flat out slaves but just like you said personality wise they are timid as hell. They don’t have dhiig like Somalis. One thing I like about Somalis is no matter where they are they act like they belong.

The premise of the question is flawed, we don't hate or love arabs, if we hate them its for legitimate reasons like politics and its targeted at specific nations not all arabs, if we love them its a misunderstanding of Islam, I heard a funny story of Somali picking up an Arabic news paper from the ground and kissing it thinking its Quran LMAO, apart from that we are just neutral towards arabs, there is no polarizing factor as we are not invested in the arab identity as are not native arabic speaking people.
