Somaliland needs city planning council for future city layout

Postby SuldaanOfSanaag » Wed Jul 10, 2019 11:22 am

We need a council town planning mamul to oversee city planning in all the biggest cities in Somaliland. We need educated youngster to have job and cheat jobs.

A city planning committee should be established working with local governments in every magaalo.

What do you'll think about it.

Personally I think we should move the capital to sheikh when we have enough revenue and build a city from scratch.

There are serious issues that are more important than city planning.

You got it wrong. I'm referring to climate change, droughts, cyclones, food insecurity, probability of most livestock perishing*, etc. Imagine minimal to none vegetation, and where 50/60c degrees become the norm in a few decades.

That's important aswell but you we can do both. Landscape and town planning can reverse climate change. Otherwise you will have badly built roads and less green space.

Elaborate how 'Landscape and town planning can reverse climate change.' Cite 2-3 examples.

1,For example city landscape requires alot of tree planting and green space where it can reverse pass tree cutting around the city.

2, when you have a organised layout you tend to free space. Take for example hargeisa main road inside the city so much traffic causing the old cars polluting the street.

3,Town planning and water storage can help store rain water for the city to reuse wheather foe farming or drinking. Therefore it cuts waste.

4, it creats space for future developement whether for sewage or pipe laying.

Just take a look at all the big cities in SL/Somalia not one big park for childrean to play or ppl to relax.
