Somaliland Parliament debates moving the capital
To somewhere else, this has came up numerous times and it has its merit to warrant a move elsewhere.
The capital hasnt got the water resource and its too far away from eastern Somalilans which at times falls to puntland.
Hargeisa will still be important city becos of size and infrastructure. It will be like Istanbul while the new capital becomes Ankara.
I have few suggestion for the new capital and the ones that might ve ideal be wont make the cut, so first ans foremost which place will be favourably.
Odeweyne: it is situated in a central place and all reer live short distance from it. Close ro hargeisa as well.
Burco: again in a centrel place and it will be easily adapted for capital as it sits in the middle of Sl and already has sizeable population and infrastructure.
Ainabo: it has road connection and land mass for development. It will also bring eastern security's concern down and establishment proper agency.
Ceerigaabo has alot of space and it has beautify scenry. If we going for a place like Australia capital Canberra with its goverment based there and governing all of somaliland.
Lascanood: again lascanood will bring out a lot for somaliland, showing ppl in east thatsomaliland cares and will establish goverment in sool and secure the east boarder .
The other good place to make capital but we make the cut are.
Sheikh: its a mountain area and further development will make it difficulty and reason is sheikh is one of the moat beautiful place in SL ans should be made UNESCO Heritage like daallo aswell. Good call but other place will make more impact.
Borama: another good call but its location is further west than hargeisa and will be hard govern from there. But we should make borama the financial and education centre of Somaliland with the biggest compaines establishing head office there and somaliland intuition aswell.
Berbera: berbera is already a thriving place with the national port and good infrastructure, making it capital won't make difference. Also the weather is hot and alot of ppl wouldnt be eager to move there.
Gebily: again gebily is close aprimoxity to hargeisa and will no doubt face tge same problem. Is also further west.
Wajaale: to close to Ethiopia and also it has already thriving economy with trading and wholesale reaching all over the horn of africa.
Salaxley, baligubadle, sayla, buhotle, talex, badhan, are all too small to make it capital and should at least double up in size and also are one qabiil only towns which will make it more difficult. Oodweyn might be one qabiil aswell but other qabiil live next to it and could.
Any way whats ur suggestion. We need a new capital in Somaliland.

We heavily invested In hargeisa so I don't see somaliland Changing it's capital any Time soon. Burao does not even have a decent hotel or even an airport.

Capital could be in a small city it dont need to having hundred hotels. Hargeisa will still be the main city of Somaliland.

Ceerigaabo
Homes of our ancestors also my birth place may Allah to bless this place. Besides, Ceerigaabo has all life backbone, like sea, agriculture, livestock etc.

Do you think the politicians and civil servants will agree to move from bustling Hargeisa with all its vices, to sleepy, provincial small town Ceerigaabo.
Dont waste your time it will never happen

so we solve water problems by moving the capital? wtf , the fact old farts like Gaal and his old habro in the gurti are so amused at last finding something to chatter about is indicative how SL brain is going down the sewage .-

Solving water shortages is underway but no drainage or sewage system at all. It seems no one understand that, Do you know Hargeisa doesn't have paths along the side of the road(sidewalks). You have to share the road with cars.original dervish wrote: Mon Sep 30, 2019 4:23 pm What happened to the water company that was gonna solve the water crisis?![]()

If the govt had pushed forward with the cement plant redevelopment in Berbera.......you could have had sidewalks from Berbera to Garowe.
Re: Somaliland Parliament debates moving the capital
The irony is Hargaysa is flooding and yet we have no water. That brain dead mentality will eventually crack somaliland.LeJusticier wrote: Mon Sep 30, 2019 4:40 pmSolving water shortages is underway but no drainage or sewage system at all. He can't , he has no power to replace a mayor , the division of power is as such . I am amazed you don't get that basic somaliland law.cheifaqilbari wrote: Mon Sep 30, 2019 4:12 pm I don't understand why president Musa do not replace mayor solteco for many years people have been complaining. Re: Somaliland Parliament debates moving the capital
Are you stupid don't you know the constitution and other laws of your country. how can muuse biixi replace an elected member of hargeisa City council . Soltelco can spit on the face of muse biixi and still be the mayor of hargeisa. Because he is elected by the peaple. Only 25 members of the council can kick him out. NOT MUSE BIIXI.cheifaqilbari wrote: Mon Sep 30, 2019 4:12 pm I don't understand why president Musa do not replace mayor solteco for many years people have been complaining.
