How is beating wrong, That's the only method they'll learn right from wrong. I say beating is part of rich cultral view, not alone will it shape and form them into the people we turned out to be today. I say we persist in physical thrashing.

I don't blame parents who put their children on timeout and I believe sometimes, a smack on the butt does wonders. I do not mean beating kids up or hurting them in any way, I mean just a little tap. I’m all for appropriate discipline.

Where I live if you touch a child, even with just a tap on the butt, you would be prosecuted on grounds of assault and physical abuse, and you better believe it you would end up with a criminal record. Shocked

hitting a kid in the face is just wrong. However a smack on the back of the head is perfectly rite and should be applied once in awhile.

Nabeela lool, that' s what I mean you can easily loose your kids to the gaalo if they report you. What most of us don' t realise is that children spend most of there time at school and therefore they get socialised by the gaalo on many different levels. They are made aware of the fact that if your parent slaps you it' s considered abuse. So why not find ways to correct them in a different way. Punishments should def be introduced and those actions should be taken from early on. It won' t work on early teens Laughing

If you chek the stats, you'll find that 99% of kids who are disciplined physically, don't report it. It's when kids show up at school with bruises and sprains when authoritys are usually called in. Tho you ARE right in that technically, the law IS there if a child so desired to report it. But you'll find they rarely do.

lool@lady

I agree with you abaayo. Sadly some people tend to confuse between a discipline and a punishment.

<=== I'm planning to be like Supernanny when I discipline my kids Laughing

Nabeela, walahi if you take away all the things they love and tell them why you think what they did is wrong it work out of for the better in the long run. But I can understand if some people have ciil which isn' t necessarily related to the child' s bad behaviour and they just need a punching bag Rolling Eyes

Mikey lool, where I live even the neighbours will report your a$$ if they hear the kids screaming walahi especially if you are a muslim family Laughing
