Postby The-Screw » Wed May 23, 2007 12:25 am

Tue. May 22, 2007 09:10 pm.- By Mohamed Abdi Farah. -

Correction - (SomaliNet) First president of Somalia after independence Aden Abdulle Osman known as Aden Adde is now in critical condition and unconsciousness in Nairobi, Kenya but not passed away.

Earlier today, his daughter Fadumo informed the government officials in the capital the death of her father after she assumed he was dead but the truth story became that Aden Adde is his last hours of life.

Adden Adde who is at the age of 99 is now being planted by life support machine as surrounded by family members.

President Aden Adde has been bed ridden for a long time but later had to be transferred to Nairobi for further medical treatment.

Aden Adde was the first democratically elected head of state and relinquished power peacefully.

He became head of Somalia in in 1960. His successor, Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke was assassinated in 1969 followed by Mohamed Siad Barre's military coup. Mr. Barre lost control of Somlaia in 1991 and went into exile. He died in Lagos, Nigeria in 1995.
