Explosions Rock JigJiga Stadium

multiple explosions that this morning rocked a stadium where a political ceremony was taking place. About eight explosions are reported to have been heard in the Stadium.

Many civilians forced to attend this gathering were present in the stadium at the time of the explosions. The civilians were forced to attend the political celebrations of a day known in Amhari as Gibood Haaya, which happens the twentieth of the Ethiopian calendar.

The stadium was guarded by a heavily armed contingent from the Ethiopian military. When the celebrations started, Mr. Cabdullahi Hassan Lugbur, the head of the so-called local administration was welcomed to address the gathering. As soon as Mr. Lugbur started his speech, multiple explosions took place closer to the podium.

It is reported that Mr. Lugbur sustained serious injuries from the multiple explosions, which rocked the stadium. Eyewitnesses interviewed by Ogaden Online reporter in JigJiga confirm that Lugbur lost a leg and sustained serious injury to his lower body. Lugbur and his some of his lieutenants who were injured by the multiple blasts were transported to the JigJiga hospital.

The so-called state and police is also reported to have sustained casualties from the multiple blasts. Both the head and the deputy head of the federal police force, which happen to be from the Tigray community, have lost their lives on the spot.

It is reported among the injured include JigJiga Mayor Mr. Axmed Yaasiin Bashiir Dool. A military helicopter was seen transporting the seriously injured including Mr. Lugbur and the dead bodies of the Tigray officials.

A young girl who was part of the civilians present in the stadium and who contact Ogaden Online reported that there are a lot of dead and the wounded are many. Most of the casualties she said was caused not by the blasts but by indiscriminate shootings carried out by the contingent of heavily armed Ethiopian military personnel who were guarding the stadium.

The young girl said that it appeared that the Ethiopian military was just shooting at all directions without regard to civilian life.

Explosions of this kind have not been observed in Jig Jiga before. So far no organization or individual has claimed responsibility. Local sources say that these multiple explosions were carried out to eliminate Mr. Lugbuur while giving the Ethiopian military a chance to massacre Ogaden civilians by responding to the explosions with indiscriminate shootings as happened today in the stadium.
Who is this Lugbuur man, and why is anyone trying to take his life away?
Abdullahi Hassan Lugbuur is the 'president' of the 'gov't' of the 'Somali state' (Kilanka 5aad). He is a young man (in his 40s Smile ) from the Bah-Geri sub-clan of Ogadeen clan. It is claimed he has been 'elected' by the people of that region, in truth, he has been appointed. He has a 'lugbuur' (one of his lug is bigger than the other one). The ONLF are targeting him, but apparently, he just drove in military vehicle from Godey to Mustaxiil the other day and the ONLF did not attack his convoy, I dont why Confused

2-3 yrs?. Kilanka 5aad had many 'presidents' and most of them ended up in jail. The real power is with the Tigrays sxb, the Somali 'president' is just a joke figure who just speak for them and draw his salary in the comfort (well, not so now) of Jig_Jiga town.
