Let me break down the film in a few words:

Black criminal (denzel washington) pedals drugs and such and runs his own overly-glorified one-man crime empire, whilst the corrupt White cop (russel crowe) comes down hard on him, and in the end it turns out the white cop wanted the best for the streets so he HAD to kill the black crime boss, etc.

Blah blah blah, its nothing new. Denzel is a great actor that takes too many similar movies... Rolling Eyes
