Maryan Mursal is one of the Midgaans that settle among the Dhabayaco in Galkacayo. She got pissed off when Afweyne karbaashed the Dhabayaco in late 1970s. And she became anti Siyad Barre. She is the only female Somali singer that also writes her own songs. This song was one of the songs she made for Siyad Barre.
"Jacaylka" iyo "Caashaqa" and many other related words which appears in many anti Siyad Barre songs, was a covert reference to the Towradda/Kacaanka. This was done to pass through the Classifications department which checked every song before it was published or released to the public.
