[quote]I believe there are no coincidences in life, the West had a hand in Somalia's destruction. They used inside & outside forces to facilitate the destruction, knowing how Qabiil is a deciding factor in Somalia.

Jimmy Carter admitted to having a hand in the destruction of Somalia.

Koronto, this is the closest I'll get to a qabiliste statement, but Hawiye, is responsible for 90% of all the demolished infrastructure in Somalia. Look at the areas they controlled and look at the areas other tribes controlled. Look at Bari. Its not different then when it was in the past. Look at Berbera,Haregeisa etc. Look at Kismayo. Marehan have controlled it the last 12 years and its no different then during the war. Now look at Banadir. These guys occupied Gov't buildings as hotels and apartments, and looted all of the factories. I was discussing with my Dad the Marexan/Majerten tensions, and while he railed at MJ's hanguuri, sneakiness and selfishness, he said "Majerten lakin waa hishoodan, lakin hawiye ma hishoodan".

He will admitt to anything these days... Laughing Laughing

Luq_Ganane,

Yes, Hawiye had a lot to do with it, but Daarood & others weren't much better. My dad was a Maareeye (General Manager) at Mareereey in 1989-1990, he personally told me that it was an everyday battle trying to run that factory because the employees would steal everything. The Chinesse built it and Bare didn't spare any funds building it, but Somalis were on a mission to steal even the parts, walaahi.

A lot of big players who used to be former ministers, deputies, etc. took advantage of the situation, they already knew the value of the infrastructure and knew who to sell them to, they wasted no time looting everything.

Koronto, true, I'm certainly not going to blame Somalias diminished state on Hawiye alone. However your talking about an industry level plant. I'm talking about BASIC infrustructure. Today, in Xamar one has to purchase a months supply of water, and primitively use it like we're in the stone age. No sewage system. I'm not expecting functioning plants and factories, but at least mantain the basics.

Like someone said, the ONLF would've gotten wide support if they kept their image up, but by meddling in Somali politics, they ended narrowing their support list.

Yes, I agree.

In summer 2006, we had to go to an ICU judge to return our two homes in Mogadishu. For more than 15 years, some Duduble family lived in 1 and a HG family lived in another.

My brother & I met with the HG dude in Mogadishu and he told us "Hade guriga waad u jeedaan si wanaagsan baan u dhaqaleyn jiray" meaning hook me up with some $$ for maintenance, the ICU dudes told him to fock off, it was some funny shit.

Greeedy...ICU judge was also HG, they know how to listen to each other. Too bad Daarood didn't realize to take advantage of the ICU because they didn't give a fock about clan favors, walaahi I was shocked.

I even met some OG guys with some HG dudes and some Marehan, they were all ICU men, kicking @ss. Bad day to be a Mooryaan.
