a few points that are helpful

Postby toxteth-gyal » Wed Jun 20, 2007 5:20 pm

salam brothers an sisters..

Read and strive to understand the Qur'an. Remember that Allah (SWT) is speaking to you through the Qur'an. The Qur'an is a direct word from Him. Many different types of people are described in the Qur'an...try to analyze where you stand.

*Make SURE you PRAY Every Single day , 5 TIMES a DAY. In every prayer you recite Al-Fatiha [the opening]---Learn what this surah means. This is a CONTRACT you need to renew with Allah (SWT) 5 times a day. Prayer is a connection between YOU and Allah (SWT)...it is an appointment Allah (SWT) set-up with you everyday(what an HONOR)

*Know that Allah (SWT) is the Greatest. Nothing can happen without his permission. Allah (SWT) is in control over EVERY SINGLE thing. He(SWT) knows and sees all that we do and all that we think. He knows us more than anyone else.

* Do small good deeds. The best of deeds are those that are done all the time (even if it's small). Be consistent in your deeds. Erase a bad deed with a good one.

* Strive to gain knowledge on Islam. Read a lot. Don't forget to develop your Taqwah.

* Go to Halaqas and Islamic gatherings and lectures. Be Involved and teach others [such as friends, etc] what you learn. Also; make a note that being with your good Muslim friends [even if its just to 'hang out'] can make you stronger and help you develop your Islamic identity

* Be Afraid to disobey Allah (SWT). Know that he is ALWAYS watching us. Strive to please Him

* Continuously make duas. Depend on Allah (SWT) and never stop asking from Him. Ask Him for everything; big and small. Turn to Him when you need help; turn to Him with anything. He knows How you feel---Even if you don't say it..you just need to show that you Want Him [The All-Capable] to help

* Repent continuously . Ask Allah (SWT) for forgiveness for He is the Most Forgiving and He is the Only one who can save and help you. Be constant in this act.

* Know where you're going to end up after this life.

Deal with people in the beautiful way of the Islamic Personality...Not because you want people to look highly of you--But because you want to be perfect in the Eyes of Allah (SWT) *metaphorical*.

* Don't let your devilish temptations and desires be higher than what Allah's (SWT) orders and wants for you. Worship and be guided by Allah (SWT) only--not shaytan or evil temptations.

just thought dis would be helpfuland Inshaa' Allah we hope to strengthen our iman, ... Inshaa' Allah, if we all strive to help each other, then Allah will help us.

Good point, Istagfurila I usually make dua when in need, yet when i feel happy and content i sometimes forget to thank allah(swt)...which is wrong,as we NEED allah, allah dont need us but inshallah that shall change, actions speak louder than words, thank you very much anyway though
