to your question , the same way that 2 million namibians hold 800 000 km square compared to 4 million singaporean hold 700 km square.
it is not bravery , it is just that the bigger land you're talking about is desertique and no one want to live in it even monkeys don't want to live there.
bigger land does not equal brave people nor wealth.
