Postby King-of-Awdal » Sun Jun 24, 2007 7:42 pm

friend of mine mailed me these very interesting
http://www.banadir.com/77/index.html

worst decision somalia ever made was to ally its self with the Soviet Union we should have allied ourselfes with the US.

one interesting Quote is Siade Barre even went as Far as to ask for a united ethopian somali federation system when he saw all the east germans soviets and cubans were against him. i just wish he would have allied himself with the US. Sad

Siyad foked up big time...

he should have postponed the war, even sacrificed the WSLF and let them fend for themselves, well maybe contiue and funding them.

he should not have sent the army in.

he should not have trusted arabs, those who place their trust in arabs usually get foked.
and depending on america under that sissy carter was a no go.

if only we remained good progressive socialists and puppy dogs of the soviets till 85
then we would have ruled ethiopia and the entire horn.

Gurey i definately have to Disagree here well he shouldnt have allied himself with the socialist and should have much more contact with especially the US as that would have guranteed us a win over the ethopians and as for letting the WSLF go fend for itself that is unacceptable as somaliz even if we are outnumbered and weaker we still have to do what ever we can to defend our own the only thing mistakes he made was listened to the lies of Castro who he met secretly in Aden and for thinking tht the egyptyains and Sudanese were going to intervene. Shocked

the US did not lift a finger to help somalia till reagan was in power.

carter a sissy fairy who was scared of the soviets.

allying with the US would have been beneficial only after 1980.

we kicked the soviets out in 1977 when we had 60% of the ogaded under our countrol and the ethiopians were shitting in thier pants.
when the soviets then cut of the flow of arms we had to depend on Egypt and Saudi arabia and kuwait to send thier secodn hand weapons and money to buy spare parts and amo from the chinese.

we even got some Pakistani pilots and engineers to keep the planes flying.

the US did not do shit.

i know they didnt and everyone knows Carter was a disaster but and yea the somalians went as far as 50 miles outside of addis ababa when the freakn Cubans showed up and soviets cut of the supplies but am sayin if we just allied ourselfes with US at the begining and the war took place we would have had out ammuntion supples intact and could have destroyed the freakn ethopians ohh man how we have changed from those times to these shockn and sad walaahi. so you are saying we should never had allied with the soviets?

then we wouldnt have had the millitary superioirty then would we?

the frist somali government was pro western and approached the US and UK first for arms.

the US was only gonna fund a 5000 man army while the soviets offered to fund a 15,000 man army with all the toys that we could wish for.

so ofcourse they went for the soviet offer.
