Question for the girls...Re: Hijaab

Postby LANDER-4-LIFE » Thu Jul 19, 2007 3:06 pm

Salamu alaykum sisters.

I’m just wondering, how many of you wear the hijaab?

Do you wear ..

A scarf and you normal clothing?

Cabaayad and scarf…(I mean all the time as part of your regular clothing…..not on Eid dayz to the mosque!)

Full/half Jilbaab??

Does anybody wear the niqaab??

And also have ever felt like you been discriminated against because you wear the hijab? Like you never got the job after a good interview because you wear a scarf.

salamz

Salaam,

I used to wear hijab and wrap dresses over my trousers but alhamdulillah i have been wearing the abaaya (baggy ones that actually cover my body totally) for a while now Smile

Watch this insha'Allah, it's very true, specially the last bit about the different types of hijab:

Asalamu Alaykum

Alhamdulilah I wear hijaab and abayaa.

I don't know what you mean by jilbaab, whether you refering to the other style of abaya that older Asian women wear or the hijaab the majority of Somali women wear?

I think I have been discriminated slightly, however I was discriminated against because of my personality and my haya (modesty) both inner and outer. I didn't realise it was a male dominated organisation or I would have never shown up.

Alhamdulilah my current job allows me to practice my deen and fulfil all my obligations with ease.

The power of du'a and sabr, really helps at the end of the day!

yup duas are real powerfull....yeh i use the term jilbab= hijab from head to toe in one piece..bcoz if i said ''hijab'' to describe the hijab in one piece from head to toe most peole on here wud assume its the hijab is a little headscarf or sutum ma garatay? so i used the term ''jilbab to clarify for people here'' n i knw the term hijab is one piece mateial from head to toe.... n half jilbab meaning ''dalaayad iyo abaya'' inshalah gna wear it soon its beutifull ..
