A friendly match between Somalia and Sierra Leone on Sunday evening September 2nd at Columbus Crew Stadium didn't live up to the hype. Somalia-0 Sierra Leone-3. after 25 mins of player introductions, national anthems (btw somalia didn't have one, they played a song, the crowd starting singing the anthem in the background but didn't know the words so there were a lot of humming, staring at one another and throwing hands in air in confusion and nervous laughters), team pictures and Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman making the first kick at midfield, the game was on. it took 5 seconds for sierra leone to score. Somalia looked tired, scared, and in desperate need of few energy bars. they didn't pressure the ball, they didn't clear the ball which often led to a shot on goal for SL, but overall it was a good day, decent crowd and a nice band. a good sunday. pictures below.

Average Sierra Leone Player: 6'1' 180lbs

Average Somalia player: 5'7' 90lbs (seemed like it atleast)

its not even about how skinny somalis are.....its just that somalis in american cannot play good football.......european somalis would thrashed them sierra leone guys no matter how atheltically built they are.newayz, typical somalis even bringing qabil into football.....and Shocked

1_londoner, it's about the quality of football played. The quality of football in America isn't on par with that of Europe, South America, Asia and other parts of the world. The same with American cars; the quality of Chevrolet, Buick, Ford, Lincoln and Saturn aren't on par with Audi, VW, Mercedes, Toyota, Honda, Volvo and many others. Even the sports they dominate (i.e. baseball), most of their top players come from other countries such as Cuba, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Mexico, etc.

You comparing oranges and apples. I won't put these young malnourished guys on par with this national team of Sierra Leone.
