My Ramadan Afuur Schedule

Postby AbdiWahab252 » Thu Sep 06, 2007 9:30 am

Ramadan is almost here and being iskaboolow, I am searching for places to get tasty afuur meals. My strategy focuses on going to family friends, associates, friends and relatives.

Week # 1 - Taste of Konfur - Hitting up all my Rer Xamar, Rer Barawe and Bandiiri folks for afuur. Additonally, I am focusing on hitting up my married friend's places for food. I got a safety in one friend who lives down the street and he always invites me for afuur.

Week # 2 - Asian Spice - I plan to eat at my Pakistani, Indian, and Bangladeshi friends.

Week # 3 - Chakula Tamu ya Afrika - Yep, its off to eating the finest East African food especially coastal Kenyan and Tanzanian food. To get a bit more diversity of what the continent has to offer, I will try to get to eat foods from Western Africans: Sengalese, Mauritanians and Niger.

Week # 4 - Dhagacas Delight - A taste of the Middle East: Morrocan, Egyptian and Yemeni food.

If I play my cards right, I will only have to prepare afuur for myself: 4 to 5 nights.

To all my fellow iskaboolow folks, good luck !

you r totally sad. ramadan aint about how much food you are gonna be stuffing, its about being closer to allah and knowing how others around the world who have no food feel like......fix up man......

p.s the prophet s.a.w had afur with only a couple of dates and some water. not a flippin buffet.

U misunderstood my comment. I usually go to the gym 3 or 4 nights each week. During Ramadan, I will subsitute going to the gym with taraweex.

eating dates and drinking water is following the sunnah of the prophet s.a.w, so of course i will be having that along with other types of food.

Abdiwahab, why don't you also hit up one of your Abgal family friends for some good old Silid and macsaro? Or some of the African American converts for some BarbQ chicken?

Actually I hate eating too much at afur time. Usually I have something light, and then later in the night I really eat.

Interesting, personally if i eat afur, I can't eat anything else, I don't wake up for suxuur either, basically I go from one afur to another.

The problem with going crazy at Afur for me is when you didn't eat the whole day, its hard to just take all that food one time. I gotta have like an appetizer, and then work my way in. Usually with Taraweh right around the corner theres not enough time for that. Plus, it makes me super lazy during the Salat. Lakin usually after Taraweh, when I'm coming home I have like my Afur, Casho and Suxur all at once. Very Happy

Luq,

BARBEQUE CHICKEN, Subaxanallah.

That gives me labjeex.

Nabz:

Nothing is better than eating porridge @ 4am for suxur. I then leave for work right after Fajr prayers and try to leave @ 4pm.
