Luq,

The secret to eating good food for afur is to not drink too much fluids.

Insha Allah! I am looking forward to that. Sh. C/Nur will lead us in taraweeh, he is a good recitor. I hear people are already filling up to bring afur to the masjid.

Every Ramadan we have a list of how many people say they will bring afur.

Besides, I am sure Sh. AQ in VA is just as a good recitor, both C/Nur & AQ studied in Al-Madina University.

Koronto,

Your probably confusing Sh AQ with his brother Aden who is preparing a Phd in Madinah right now. Sh Abdiqadir studied in Mandhera, Khartoum and other places before coming to America. Lakin, the "feel" in Atlanta must be unbelieavable. I spend a week there back in '05 with some guys from VA. Masjid As-Sunnah was unbelievable, and we learned a lot from Maalin Khalif and Sh Abdinur mashallah. People there take the religion seriously mashallah, and I'm sure Ramadan there is great. VA is Taaif down

Luq,

I guess I confused AQ with his brother then, I always thought he studied in Madina. This will be the first Ramadan without Sh. Khalif, he quit his position as imaam on the first day of Ramadan and accused of everyone being a bunch of Bid'a committers. I hear they had their own "Mutamar"... Laughing

Koronto,

Yea I know the stuff that happened there. Its sad the way everything went down there. Lakin let me tell you I know Sh Khalif well, and everything I've ever seen of him, was that he was very sincere. Its tough the way everything worked out. Also, remember Sh Nuh's lecture at the Mu'tamar 'Hilibka Ulemadu Waa Sun'? I heard a bunch of other talks like that and that was a big theme during the whole mu'tamar. Its seems this stuff is starting to become a big problem in the community man.

Luq,

I tell you what led to Sh. Nuh's lecture, for a long time the members of Masjid Assunah have been silent about what the "Salaful Jadiid" have been doing, they have been running a campaign of character assasination, image smeering, accusing everyone of being "Hizbi" ,Bid'a followers, thieves, etc. And saying Sh. Albaani, Ibn Baaz & Uthaymeen were all against "Hizb" people.

Well, Sh. C/Nur found a recorded interview of Albaani before his death and he talks greatly about "Hizbi" concept and about the Salaful Jadiid. It was a blow on their face. Sh. Albaani & Ibn Baaz both say talking about the scholars equals eating the flesh of your brother and is a major crime.
