sunnah is like medicine..!!

Postby Naaima » Thu Nov 01, 2007 1:33 pm

Salam alaikum

mashalah some people are blessed, and good at coming up with good examples uh!.........read this walalyoal

Shaikh Khidir from Toronto, Canada once gave a very beautiful example on the importance of following the ways (sunnah) of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He said that sunnah is like medicine. Usually, when we visit the doctors for treatment, they write on the prescriptions the medicines we need. We take these prescriptions to pharmacists who then sell the medicines to us. Sometimes these medicines are bitter and hard to swallow, but we still consume them as we know that the cure is in them. Similarly, each and every sunnah has physical and spiritual cure for us in this world and in the hereafter. Even if some of sunnah are hard to follow, we should still follow them as the cure is in them.

You might as well change this to "So take what Santa Clauss gives you, and refrain from what he prohibits you..."

MAD MAC,

Santa Claus is not the Most Influential Man in History according to historian Michael Hart:

http://www.jamaat.net/hart/thetop100.html

"It is this unparalleled combination of secular and religious influence which I feel entitles Muhammad to be considered the most influential single figure in human history."

"Furthermore, Muhammad (unlike Jesus) was a secular as well as a religious leader. In fact, as the driving force behind the Arab conquests, he may well rank as the most influential political leader of all time."

"My choice of Muhammad to lead the list of the world's most influential persons may surprise some readers and may be questioned by others, but he was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the religious and secular levels.

Of humble origins, Muhammad founded and promulgated one of the world's great religions, and became an immensely effective political leader."

MAD MAC,

There is a distinction between Islam and even the Ummah. Islam is God's will and Muslims are fallible human beings.

For a 7th century bedouin fabrication, how is it that ISlam still gains so much publicity/attention from any/everybody in the world?

How can a Muslim, who is poor, wretched, weak, of no significance in this world have such confidence in this religion?

Because it is from God and resonates in the human spirit and current transient worldly affairs are not proof positive that this religion is the truth or not. It is not a worldly theory that you can dissuade someone from.

This is what the Prophet prophesized, and it is happening...Islam is on the lips of all of mankind today.

“Allah foregathered the whole earth before my sight and I saw both its easts and its wests, and verily, the kingdom of my nation shall reach all that has been foregathered before me.”

“Surely, this religion will reach the boundaries of the day and night and Allah will not spare a rural or an urban dwelling except that he would cause Islam to enter it by elevating some and degrading others. A glory with which Allah elevates Islam and a humiliation with which Allah degrade Kufr (disbelief).”

1. Have We not opened your breast for you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))?
2. And removed from you your burden,
3. Which weighed down your back?
4. And raised high your fame? ************

"Islam is God's will and Muslims are fallible human beings."

Gedo, the problem with the argument, stems from it's foundation. Islam is not Gods will.

I am being serious. It's all bullshit Naima. Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Bhudism..............it's all nonsense. People believe in this shit because from birth they are told to. If you were not born a Muslim, I guarantee you, you would not be one today.

I live in a Bhudist society, and they are just as devout and just as convinced that their faith is the right faith as you are (and given that I've lived in Muslim societies, I am in a good position to make the assessment).

I grew up in a Christian home. So no shortage of exposure to that faith.

And it's all hogwash.
