A hinny or a mule is actually smaller than a horse. And that horse in that picture you posted is big. Just look how much it is taller than those cows. What you posted above in the first post as thoroughbred maakhir horses were the height of a young boy.

Qansa is right they are somali ponies . I can remember where I've read it but the british first imported some of their horses in East Africa , but subsequently died to local diseases . They then got some of the somali ponies and shipped to Kenya . According to them --> " they were very sure footed and very resistent"
Now the fact that an animal like some on your pictures isn't properly fed , doesn't take anything from him and his God given abilities{ yes the horse is one blessed animal}

The horses in that first link don't do us justice sxb.. I have seen Arabian style horses in Sanaag (Like those in that video from Maakhir). The ones from that Dhahar link resemble the Ethiopian horses. You know, those short stocky ones.
