Unclebin it is demeaning because Abdullahi Yusuf is not a Somali Elder in a Somali traditional authority position but the president of a nation, whose citizens also include Somali Bantu and all others. Even Arabs had seats in the Somali parliament during colonial times.

When it comes to the nation, ethnicity has nothing to do with it, nation includes all who have citizenship which Mawlid and the Bantu do, so in a sense by making the government a Somali ethnic group inclusive thing, Mawlid is right in saying abdullahi did not conduct himself as the president of the nation.

If he was a traditional leader however and this was a traditional council, he has a right in saying non-Somalis are not invited but it was not and so it was demeaning.
Pakistanis had seats in the Somali Goverment too. But that is wrong... No way in Hell a Somali is getting a seat in Pakistan.

Sxb, Somali Bantus have been in the Horn for 2 hundred years.... They have a homeland and that is Tanzania, Mozambique, Malawi etc.....

A Somali born in Saudi Arabia to Somali parents born in Saudi Arabia born to Somali parent's in Saudi Arabia.... Will not get a Saudi Citizenship, and is not considered a Saudi.... Mawliid needs to realize he is NOT SOMALI.... But in every sense a Somali National..... Something that Somalis who have been living in Foreign lands for 100-150 years don't have priviledges of.

If people like Abdullahi Yusuf are Somalia's President today, then whats the clamor for people to trample over themselves to be called "Somali" in this shameful era. Somali Bantus can be Somali if they wish, and plenty of them are more Somali than Afbijo will ever be, or even members, politicians of my clan that abuse others.

Inshallah in the future Somalia will move out of tribalism and unwarranted sense of foolish pride, to be people being recognized as a Somali due to service to the nation, even my own family.

Traitors who invaded Somalia with Abyssinian forces in 1979 killing thousands of Somalis are in no position to tell anybody who's Somali and who's not.

With whoever fills their stomachs and provides them with shelter & security. You should the Bantus brought to the U.S., they are more loyal to America and sing their praises better than the rednecks.
More Bantus have converted to christendom and hip hop in 1 year then Somalis have in 15 years...
Unclebin. I understand the difference between ethnicity and nationality and I get where you are coming from. I do have a question though. At what point does the line between the two become blurred? In other words If your ancestors immigrated to England 300 Years ago and mixed in with the general population both biologically and culturally wouldn't it be safe for you to now call your self english?
However that is not the case... They still retain somewhat Bantu names.... They have some cultural mixes and they are obvious phyically distinguishable from the Somali ethnic group in general.
can you blame them? Look at how somalis tread them, just read what members here are saying about them..
Yh, even though they weren't always the victims. I used to live in Gosha as a kid when my father was assigned there, they outnumbered Somalis 1 to 4 and made it known to everyone that it was their territory and no one could tell them otherwise.

O.K people there is a difference in demeaning people and setting the record straight. I am a little uncomfortable with Somali Bantu denying their heritage because they have been led to believe that Somalis are "superior" and thus are superior if they are Somali but I am against what you people are doing in demeaning and degrading them.

Heck even Sheikh Koronto has joined the bandwagon of Alluring the Paranoid (haygu xanaaqin). Marka lay iit off people there are many Somali ethnic members who are indistinguishable from reer Nigeria or reer Mozambique so no need to degrade anyone.

Look at this fool... You mix politics with reality... Abdullahi yusuf could burn 17 million Somalis does that make him less somalis?

Does siyad Barre ordering the bombings and being at the helm of a dictatorial regime make him less somali?

Does Ina Abdullah Hassan killing 300 people of a cliff, throwing Somalis into rivers, killing sub clans in waqooyi make him less somali?

Does Aideed murdering whole clans and clensing them from a city and then mortaring the hell out of North Xamar make him less Somali?

No you idiot... You can NOT EVER CHANGE SOMETHING THAT IS BIOLOGICAL....

ETHNICITY can never make a bantu Somali no matter how much he sings our national anthem... But they can become SOMALI NATIONALS.

Hey people, please wait a minute, why are guys feeling sorry for this adoon, trust me he is no better than AY.

This adoon supported the ethiopian invasion of somalia, and he just came up with these words because he got kicked out of the Tigre federal Government.

Tool for what and whom my sister Alluring the Paranoid?

Galia, I agree with you this guy was the forefront of Abdullahi's crew in getting the Tigres in. Kuligood tii alle baa ku dhacday..Gheedi fired, Gacmadheere fired, Qeybdiid under house arrest, and this one suffering humiliation at Abdullahi's feet, and Abdullahi fighting a disease every other day and collapsing everywhere.

Bantu NEVER mixed with the Somalis.
What do you mean never mixed? Most somali bantus probably speak somali better than the language of their ancestors.

However I do agree its silly to clam to be something when you are obviously not it. Im as American as you can get but it would be crazy for me to claim that my ancestors are the same as those folks that came here on the Mayflower.
