So we should sit around, get killed, raped, and let our diin be desecrated?
That's what 99% of Somalis opted to do. From Sylac to ras kambooni, everyone decided to survive today and fight another day. Any anti-occupation struggle has to be pan-somalia and concerted effort involving at least clear 2/3 of Somalis. Otherwise, it's a losing cause. You can't seriously contend Ethiopia occupation is OK in all of Somalia except for 2 or 3 neighbourhoods in Xamar. In fact, this "struggle" suspiciously reeks of qabiilism or other less than holy motives. Why should Somalis in Kismaayo, Biadoa, Beletweyn, Gaalkacyo, Burco, Bossasso, Hargeysa etc sleep in peace while those in Benaadir have to bear the near constant sounds of gun battles waged by groups who don't represent them?
They don't have 50,000 troops in there city blasting there businesses, and killing there people
You should ask yourself why Xamar and not any of those cities.
sxb, if the self-appointed defenders of Somalia left Benaadir region today, it would take less than 1 week for all Ethiopian troops to pull out. Do you think Ethiopian troops would last a single minute of all the natives or majority of Benaadiris wanted them out? All the anti-ethiopian fighting is limited to few neighborhoods of Xamar while the vast majority of Xamar is peaceful. No one elected these masked men to fight on the behalf of Benaadiris.
The fighting is done by Somali's, there is no evidence of foreigner fighters, just heresay by other people. Most people in xamar are civillians
