Xamuds Trip Too the Motherland>>Gaalkacyo(Mudug)

Postby Xamud. » Sun Feb 24, 2008 9:26 pm

Whats good? Well am back after spendind a entire month in Gaalkacyo and all I can say Is ?"IT WAS THE BOMB!" even though the city had been shaked by saciir baraar, it couldent have been nicer. Gaalkacyo is huge and people are building houses like it aint no thang.I received royal treathment, fresh liver with canjeelo\laxoox every morning as breafast, fresh mango and saytuun. You dont have too worry about the time or being late, or too clean after yourself. Everyone knows each other and the house is never empty.

I loved being with family and people, i felt welcome everywhere went,WHAT WHAT WHAT can I say? the place is not perfect but its not far from being so. Even though its not safe too go out after 6-30, due too the qaxooti wave from xamer robbing, and looting none stop. And the place lack proper adminstration, the airport needs dayactiir. More roads, and last but not least too many people carrying weapon in public.

The city is calm and safe most ofthe time, even though we witnessed minor clashes between Reer Mahamed Hassan(Muumin Adan,Leelkase) militias. And some Reer Khalaf(Cumar Maxamud,Majerteen) road blockers,5 people were left dead, 2 Leelkase and 3 Majerteens. The situation is allmost under controll now.

Any questions? I have lots of juicy facts, but I will come back too then later on inshallah.

Xamud welcome back bro.

Question: What is the present tribal composition of Gaalkacyo? Obivously you haven't done a census but a rough percentage would do.

Thanks inadeer.Well the Majerteens are largest when it comes too population, but not as large as they want you too think. After them comes Leelkase, no doubt. Sacads third, then we have minors such as Awrtable,Shiqaal,Dir,Raxanweyn,Jareerweyn etc. Believe it or not I saw more Dhullos then Awrtables(they must be hiding)

But if I must give you pecentage it would be like this

Majerteen 40%
Leelkase 28%
Sacad 15%
Others 17

Xoogsade
Marexaans as a clan are presnt in Gaalkacyo, Our Reer Mudug Brothers Wagerdhac being the largest Sade sub clan. I saw alots of trucks being owned by Marexaans in Gaalkacyo, they also use the airport every now and then. I can now vouch on Marexaans being on of the main reasons why Gaalkacyo is in Darood hands. My cousins and my adeer showed me tanks owned by Leelkase, they where given too leelkase by Marexaan. In fact Marexaan brought 48 Tekniko and 10 tanks, most of them are in Leelkase hands. Col Cabdi Casis wuxuu yahay Geesi, bless him.

What a sudden change! Our tendence to change every single thing into Qabiil within a second is simply beyond something.
I thought Xamud created this thread so he could give us a brief info about his recent trip to waddankii. What is this quick change then?
