okay i dont want this to descend into tribal fist fights..but in my opinion xamar/konfur seem to the most beautiful regions in Somalia..(and btw im not originally from there so im totally unbiased in that regard) i went to northern somalia when i was 17 ..its mostly arid and desertification is slowing but surely destroying whatever beauty that is left.its a shame when i told my dad i want to go down south ..he replied ' that is not our country'..does anyone know if there is an Isaaq minority down there??

Somalia is the south, thats why everyone fights for it, even the ones that aren't from there.
Some Isaaq might live there, but definatley don't have a degaan there.

There aint that many isaaq in the south because most isaaqs have put their money and effort in their regions up north.. But look at it this way, Somalia belongs to all Somalis and inshallah when ever there is peace you can live anywhere you wish..
You'll find darood that live in Xamar till today...
