Okay the obtacle course , I get it !
But Africans tend to do stuff with ( at least from my standpoint} no practical purpose
Now let's take for example the case of paratroopers they are required to roll on the ground upon touching it , for shock absorption , but what's the point that guy jumping out of the jeep with his weapon under his arms , rolling on the ground and then running off with his AK still under his arms

I think you missed the overall picture these were freedom fighters fighters not a regular army training in the backwoods of Eritrea. So lets give credit where credits due. These simple techniques single handed armed the freedom fighters by disarming the enemy! I think that speaks volume in itself.
