[quote="EgyptionEritrean1"]assalam alaikum brothers and sisters, I'm half Eritrean and Egyption and every time I meet Somalis and tell them I am Eritrean, they show me love and vise-versa, my Eritrean friends buy Somalis free meals all the time for simply being Somali. My question is, can a common enemy (Ethiopia) make people close friends? How true is this?

How refreshing to see screw taking part in a topic filled with tribal views.

In-fact, the Eritreas Christian Government is as bad as the Ethiopian crusaders. We can never be best friends neither both of them and currently it would be very true to say that there isnt friendships or anomies in Somalian politics but only mutual interest.

look at this man trying to teach us about governance...your caountry contains of only one ethnic group and u kill each other yet you are jealous of our nation with many different group co-living...your jealoous ass wants to confuse people when u speak of religion/ethnicity but this is the thinking which has left somalia hundreds of years backwards...

If you do a little history you will find out that Eritrea was independent before....Eritrea was illegally put under ethiopian administeration by the british and UN in 1952. In 1961 under empieror selasie they illegally with the help of USA turned Eritrea into a province of Ethiopia,,which lead to Eritrea in 1991 gaining independence once again.

Somalians in reality get along with Eritreans and see them as friends, but you might think that ethiopia is a friend because it wants somaliland independece........it doesnt it wants to seperate somalia and somaliland formally and later expand ethiopian border into somaliland for sea acess.

is that what happened to ogand, given away by the british like sum sorta present

and to answere the question ye it can make people freinds but when the mutual enemy is goes so will the freinship

i notice many ppl in this forum are confused ppl who instead of asking how it is come to their own conclusions...will you tell me exactly what eritrean government has done to oppress the muslim population? I promise you that you will only have bullshiet answers to give...Secondly what makes you think the somalis back in the 80's loved eritreans? It was the same "my enemeys enemy is my friend" agenda, so lets not be hypocrites over here. Thirdly somalis are the LAST (i repeat LAST) people to tell others how to govern themselves when you people who are of the same ethnic group cant even unite and have killed each others for the last 17 years!!

btw yall do know that top ranking commander of ethiopian armed forces is Younis Samora (jeberti)...
