ooh my god! im sobbing now...
i finished that story today... i think iv nailed the msg's behind it....
i also think that both amir and hassan represent boths sides of baba....
oddly amir who is the legitimate son represents the evil in baba where has the hassan represents the good...
and ofcourse it converses the msg that we are all brothers (shia, sunni) coz what ties them was the fact their both afghans and (from the same father obviously).... and the simple msg would u watch ur brother being...... (dont want to spoil it for ya)
sense of morality i think u'd understand... parhaps u'd like to put it in better words for me... cheers

sour_candy..... ur an idiot so i dont mind if u remain ignorants...
and in for wisdo..... ur gonna love it.... it will bring tears to ur eyes

you can cross parellels with somalia right now..............it. gurl......when amir witnessd the rape of his friend hassan.....but failed to do anything because he was a shia an amir a sunni....the writer was trying to show us if we watch our brother get raped/eaten whatever it has a consequence on everyone.(een the somalian/somaliland situation may 18 people will celebrate while some somalis will starve :( .........you can even link it the muslim ummah. it was sad.

I also think the writer was trying to send a message in the story.....you will only be happy and CONTENT when you worship Allah. i.e the parellel Hassan worse off but happy like his dad....wheas amir was sad etc

also one other point......refugess.......Baba a once influential person in Afghanistan was in America and looked upon as nothing........he was trying to say if you see a refugee wherever remember they were mostly propably imporant influential people.

also THE DEVASTATING EFFECT OF WAR.

wow im outta breath.....:)

Its good to hear you read it-girl18,though it shows even if you don't say it.You're more coherent and organise your posts better than most. Btw,I've seen Maligals in Nairobi bookshops, but never the Maliboy. I wonder why???
