KOA,

Garowe had always had an airport is just wasn't paved, so as paidmonk points out the paving process is underway, the Northeast region of Somalia had always been in a state of chaos under Siad Barre 21 years rule and the area has been on the comeback since 1998 when the PL government was establish there.
