Grant You are right about arab nationalism but wrong about the house of saud.
the house of saud and the followers of abdulwahab were number 3 in the levels of power and influence in arabia after the rashid tribe and the hashemites in hejaz.
The british funded the saud clan as well as fully backing the the hashemites .
The saud clan used british weapons and gold to defeat and exterminate the rashids that were loyal to thier khalifa the ottoman sultan, while the hashemites raised rebellion against thier khalifa as well, believing the british lies and promises.
When the ottomans were defeated , the british captured palestine and sharif hussien and the
arab nationalist officers from the ottoman army started to raise a fuss, about the sykes-picot treaty.
the uppity desert niggers needed to be thaught a lesson , preferably without shedding further british blood.
So they blockaded jeddah and prevented all ammunition and weapons from reaching the hejaz, while they started arming bani saud and his bloodthirsty akhwan to the hilt, through Kuwait and bahrain.
thhe result ?
The defeat of the only legitimate arab ruler, a well educated multilingual and politically experienced shariif hussien, who was at ease with the west.
and the rise of the house of saud, the naming of a country after thier own family.
The use of such a blasphmous title as King.
the british used and discarded the bani saud like a used condom,
little did they know that thier were mountain sized oil deposits in the najd, that the americans
luckly stumbled upon 10 years later.
