 ashlee i lived in metro housing for a while too but you must admit, just because things went well for you it doesnt mean it will go well for everyone else..

Somali parents are just trying to save couple dollars and in the process lose their kids..

If the youth doesnt have a strong will than ofcourse he/she will follow the actions of the majority..

Let me ask you this, do you want your children to grow up in metro housing?

True, but, still, it's not half as bad as snowflakes is making it out to be.

True, im more worried about the general somali mentality than that of a few.. Somalis are going straight for metro housing like is expected of them to live there, they have lowered their standards... If we keep on going in this rate it will affect the next generations of somalis who wont see nothing but ghettos..

Dixon is in Canada. Canada. Canada. Canada. There's more shootings in MPLS per week than in Canada for a decade-long period. Calm down.

BTW, I'll take government housing over where I live. My entire time in the US I've lived in a privately-owned home, but its in a shitty Black neighborhood. I'll take the Somali "ghetto" over this shit hole any day of the week.

Somali "ghettos" are always quiet, nice places. The rumors are bullshit. I've seen more niggers die across my street (2 in the last 8 months) than I've seen fist fights in Cedar Riverside in all my time in this city.

Alchemist,

Adeer, I almost got caught up in a drive by last summer. A vehicle drove by slowly firing nearly 10 bullets but luckily I ducked and rolled

All that Muqdisho street survival experience came back & saved my skin

Paidmonk,

I am used to that crap. The worst months are during the summer. I must hear at least 3 gunshots each evening.

The worst part is when you go down to the ER if u are sick. They keep bringing in the gunshot victims and its about 8 hours before you see a doctor because these punks get priority over you.

Its all fake man. My brothers and sister have been raised in Cedar(The most Ghetto place you could ever see) and they three of them finished high school, and and three of them are attending colleges now. It depends on your parents. My parents house got a curfew, you break the curfew, you are out of the house. Plus, my dad goes to the school and gets school transcripts and makes sure the kids are not falling behind in school

MJPride,

What's all this bullshit about Cedar being ghetto? I attended Dugsi there, I did a lot in Cedar, that place is completely safe. In fact, I went to Cedar just to get away from where I live. I can't believe anyone would say something negative about the neighborhood. I went there a few months ago for the first time in 4 or 5 years, and I've never seen a cleaner and more lively part of the city. Stop spreading these rumors. Cedar is in the middle of the largest hippie area in the upper midwest.

There's no shortage of affordable housing around Toronto. You do not need to resort to the ghettos. Somali parents, WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!! Thank you allah, I grew up in a great neighbourhood and not those shitty projects.

I am surprised u are not blaming the terrifying "SOUTHERNERS" this time. :o

Most Somalis in Toronto live in the West end and that mostly consists of Southerners.

The majority of Toronto's ghettos is in that part of the city. 8)

Paidmonk, thanks for giving me a valuable 411 on the place I grew up. The place is cleaner now, but did you ask yourself where are all the guys that used to hang around back in 1999/2000/ \2001/2003/2003? Most of them are locked up, another large junk moved and few of them grew up and got their sh1t together. I can personally name close 50 guys that are locked up in either the Main St.Cloud jail or the one near Duluth up north. Cedar is well past its peak, and there is young generation emerging these days, but they ain't as notorious as It used to be

The West End is also one of the richest areas in all of Toronto ( particularly Central & South Etobicoke).

There are no real "ghettos" in Toronto. Just take a look at Cabbagetown; it has the richest and poorest residents of Toronto living side by side.
