Asalaamu alaykum warahmatulahi wabarkatahu...

I feel for you sister enlightened! I thought your debate with sis Upon-Salafiyah was enough but you are even giving false advice on the General Discussion page, SubhanAllah.

May Allah forgive us and guide you sis, I am lost 4 words!

If any1 is extreme sis its YOU! MAY ALLAH GUIDE US AMEEN!

Sister, I will try not to show my anger on what I write but you are obviously not very 'Enlightened' on the Sunnah are you?

PLZ, learn more of your religion before you make us sound extreme.

We CAN NOT pray with nail varnish simple as! Our prayer will be invalid unless you still have wudu before you put it on and pray like that. However, once you break your wudu you have to take it off so the water can reach the nail/skin, inshAllah brz/srz.

The sista did a favour for the revert sis about her nail varnish-wearing in salaat.

Reverts are new to the deen so if you come in contact with them dont make them feel like Islam is tough when it is not!

Allahu Akbar.

I can go on 4eva with u sis, but I dnt hav the time really.

InshaAllah, next time you will have more authentic knowledge of your religion before you start to misguide ppl.

Sorry, if I have offended any1 I am a bit heated up!

Errm why are you heated up? Islam encourages us to be calm and collected :)

What do you think of Dr Jeffrey Lang? Hes speaking the truth..the fact is many ppl are being chased away from Islam by Muslims/ Muslim Scholars who have an extreme irrational illogical interpretation of Islam..their Islam consists of a list od DO's and DON'T's...devoid of spirituality..hence leading to SPIRITUAL DEATH and DISILLUSIONMENT

no one could be chased from islam.
people hve brain.
we cannot say go do it because you may chased away.
i agree there's way more important than issues than that because i see zina and khamri and riba ba dad melhan every day ko daho is ok.
but still no religious personal would listen to music
because that's not a good example, they must be a good example because they're scholars.
i have sheikh mahammed ghazali's book talking about when he used to teach university of madina in 1950s and 1960s his student cought him listening umm kaltoum and that's a big thing for an egyption.

ordanary person like you do what they want and it's between you and Allah.
but some scholar of knowledge wont do that.

Dr. Jeffry Lang is not a scholar, he is a revert to Islam 20+ years ago. I have read a couple of his books and he tells of his journey to Islam from atheism.

ES, quote " Islam is above such things..eyebrows, beards, jilbabs, niqaabs, prayer beads, the music issue, etc..should not dominate Islamic discourse..they are not fundamentals of the religion."

Agree  %

Fah,

Did you read his book "Even The Angels Ask?"

This is his latest and directly relates to this topic :)

Author: Jeffrey Lang
Publisher: Amana Publications (2004)

"Crucial to the vitality of any religious community is its ability to attract and engage descendants and converts. By this measure, notwithstanding the proliferation of mosques and Islamic organizations, the Muslim community in America is not doing at all well." This rather sober assessment motivates Dr. Lang to address, in this book, the alienation from the Mosque of the great majority of America's homegrown Muslims.

In Losing My Religion: A Call For Help, the author comes to terms with many of the queries put to him by Americans of Muslim parentage and converts to Islam since the publication of his book Even Angels Ask in 1977. Lang asserts that to effectively respond to the general malaise of American-born Muslims, the Islamic establishment in America needs to be willing to listen to the doubts and complaints of the disaffected. This entails engaging in open discussions on issues with which many in the Muslim community will be uncomfortable, but Lang avers that such open dialogue will be of more benefit to young American Muslims struggling with their faiths than the covert and uniformed discussions that often take place or no discussion at all. For this reason, Lang feels it is important and beneficial "to be candid and objective and not evade controversy, for to inadequately state the case for or against a specific position, especially when it challenges convention, only serves to further alienate the sceptical." In addition to examining questions of theodicy, hadith authenticity, and moot practices within the American Muslim community, the author includes many testimonials and inquiries that make this book informative.

Dr. Lang is Professor of Mathematics at The University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas. He is the author of two best selling works: Struggling to Surrender and Even Angels Ask: A Journey to Islam in America. Both books have been translated into other languages.

Enlightened_Sista- the only reason I was heated up is because of what you wrote and what you were saying, I only wanted to correct you sis.
Sorry though!

Asalaamu alaykum.
