Setting: Naasoweyn village, Southern Somalia; present day
Prologue: Tesfay is a new boy in Naasoweyn village, and Abdi is an old face who is filled with envy and a desire to be better than his peers in Naasoweyn village. Tesfay looks different than the other boys and is a lot bigger as well, drawing both attention and suspicion among other boys in town, but Tesfay always stays out of the playground because he is not welcome, but he so badly wants to enter the playground and enjoy all of its rides without disturbance. One day, Abdi approaches Tesfay and invites him to the playground.
Abdi: Little Tesfay, would you like a piece of candy?
Tesfay: Yes, thank you very much.
Abdi: Would you like to come to the playground with me?
Tesfay: Of course. But who will guide me so the boys won't bother me? Will you guarantee a safe path?
Abdi: I sure will!
Tesfay: What do I owe you in return?
Abdi: Can you kick that boy off the seesaw so we can play on it?
Tesfay: Fine.
Abdi: Okay, Tesfay, I'm tired of the seesaw, where should we play next?
Tesfay: That swing set looks empty besides the little boy, lets go there.
Abdi: That's my cousin, but if he refuses to move, I forgive you if you hit him.
Tesfay: Fine.
Abdi: This is really fun, Tesfay. We're a great team don't you think?
Tesfay: Fine. Lets go to the pool now.
Abdi: But my younger sister is there.
Tesfay: If I hit her, she'll just cry for a few moments, but we'll have a lifetime of memories in that pool.
Abdi: Fine.
Tesfay: This is really boring and the pool is too small, lets go take a swim in the local river.
Abdi: But my grandparents are there.
Tesfay:Think about how much attention we'd get from the girls if the river was all ours.
Abdi: Fine. But can we take it lightly on them?
Tesfay: Who is calling the shots here? Who brought you here? Would you like to go back to the playground?
Abdi: But I didn't even ask to be here.
Tesfay: Would you like to go back to the boys at the playground?
