Gaal jecel

Ab gaal

in the above context 'gaal' basically means geel as you said.

but the word Gaal (sin) Gaallo (pul) means infidel in the modern Somali

Like Gaalo madoow (the original inhabitants of the Juba regions)

Don't know how the word Gaal can be interchanges for the above unrelated meanings?

needs research

where is James Dahl

I have heard the "Oromo kicked out" translation for Galcayco before but doubt it is correct. There was an Oromo guy on here a couple of years ago who said the name is Oromo and means "the camels assembled".

I have heard the story that the Oromo were offered the opportunity to join Islam (soo gal), but replied "galla", no.
