I Just Don't Understand..

Postby kambuli » Mon Jan 19, 2009 12:25 pm

My first cousin is having a wedding cermony..only women..Some of our relatives are insisting that the only entertainmnet she will have is Arabic Raqas..Songs in Arabic in which the girls will be doing a belly dancing stuff which I personally can't stand :x

My question is, what makes the Somali songs Harram and Arabic songs Halaal...

I can understand "No music at all"..But come on, dancing in Arabic is no different from dancing in Somali...Af Carbeedka ma quraan bay moodeen....

Somali dancing involves shaking the ass, but Arabic dancing is more on belly dancing. For a men, I rather watch an ass shaking than a belly dancing

That's nonsense, if they're going to have music, it might as well be in somali. lol It's really annoying, one of my cousins got rid of her cable for a kazillion arab channels, at least her daughter is a bookworm now.

Did she say that Somali music is considered xaraam upfront?

I personally love belly dancing but don't think having only Arabic music the entire time in a Somali wedding is fair.

In the remote backwaters of the country, Arab porn is outselling others by five to one owing in no small measure to the same contrivance. Shiekhs in the employ of the Saudi Ministry of Adult Entertainment inform unwitting natives that Somali productions do not satisfy divine sanction, thus haraam. Fiddlesticks!

lol @ Kambuli.

A relative of mine had her wedding this past Saturday. The songs they played were all in Arabic (well at least the time i was there), i found it bit weird that no Somali song was played esp that the bride and her family didnt speak Arabic.

BUT hey I was happy since I understood the language up untill those carzy somalis started their weird bood bood, now that is something i cant stand!
