kambuli , i remeber when i was young, and by the way guys also have deff celeberation.
they just jumb up and down. i havent seen belly dance.
they make khaliiji traditional dance, and it's not belly dance.
than seefta lagu eyaaro that what men do here.

but im guessing people have changed now and they belly dance with the defff.lol

yes she knows more Somali than Arabic...Not very fluent just like you 8-)

But I know she prefers Somali music..if there should be a music..

but yeah i do feel you on that carab craze, i've seen it here in t.dot alot.

90% of the weddings i've been to lately have all had arabic music to usher in the bride.... if the bride was raised in carabta then maybe that's her connection but i've seen ones that were even born in Canada and have absolutely no connection with carabta and still, carab this carab that...i guess this is equivalent to the "white" western wedding gown almost all of us(somali brides) still wear on our wedding day(guilty.lol) even thought that's not our dhaqan.

I do not personally like going to wedding at all, too much judgement placed on individuals. They can wear diraac which shows their bra's and stomach, but God forbid someone wears a dress and you get stared at like you walked in with the devil.

Arabic music is allowed but no soomaali....that is just flat out stupid and ignorant.

Don't they know Kambuli doesn't attend to weddings without her Samater's CD in hand? :mrgreen:

I'm a man and I can't stand belly dancing. There is nothing sexy about it. Somali woman dancing in Darac or Guntiimo, now that is sexy. :lol:
