Sh.Sharif was never the one who was beating the war drums. In fact, he was one of the very few leaders in the ICU who condemned the 7-day ultimatum against the Ethiopians. He led the delegation to Sudan for talks with the TFG only to be hijacked by people with certain agendas. Even his staunchest critics will not blame him for the war that ensued between the ICU and the Ethiopians. Of course, he added his few cents to the war rhetoric but he had to. He was a leader of the ICU when war was imminent and he had to cheer his troops up. That's what all leaders do. I don't know how this shows Sh Sharif to be an "opportunist"
