Priority should be south somalia, but ignoring puntland and somaliland is not a smart thing for the president to do. He needs to find a way to negotiate with both regions and have them represented fairly. Or else he will in effect be the president of south somalia and not the somali republic.

Well if he wanted to be taken serious by Somaliland he should and accept our borders with Somalia and also respect our people decision, if he doesn't we will see him as just another warlord

He isn't even the president of the south not even the mayor of all Muqdisho, how long with the southern Bantuu would lie to themselfs and continue the same sharde as the last 20 years. havn't the southern Baantu mentality grown any?

1- First it was Ali Mahadi and in Jabuti 1991.

2- Then it was Aydid and the sal balaar goverment 1993.

3- Then Carte in 1998 and Salaad Boy and his girlish barvado.

4- Then Abdilaahi Yuusuf Al-Biijo in 2005.

5- Now its this Abgaal billy goat called Sheekh Hebel Sharif.

All the above were treated as the president of all Somalia and every southern Baantu ululated, and ironically all of them were chosen by the same process,

so now 17 years later and the 15th conference , tell me whats the difference between the new billy goat and old the old billy goats??

Couldn't of said it better...puntland and somaliland are doing their own thing right now think of whats going on in xamar before you jump to such things..please note puntland and somaliland have a lot of things going for them right now and south Somalia doesn't.

Somalia is Mogadishu according the the World.

Xamar falls in order, all of Somalia will come under it. If this Shareef Guy manages to get serious cash from the International Community, offers every youth in ICU, Shabab, etc. a monthly paycheck to join a Somali Army, they get training, then all of Somalia will fall under one authority. The question is does Shareef have the capabilty to procure those recourses?

The problem with somali's has always been too many chiefs and not enough indians, everyone wants power and no one is willing to work with anyone else. At some point we have to get behind one president, shieck sharif can be that president.

good idea, why would the good sheikh want PL and SL if his house is not in order. Let PL and SL be the last challenge the sheikh confronts, preferbly towards the end of his term and when elections are due. If he makes it through xamar, gedo, jubooyinka, shebeelaha, Bay, and all of the southern states, he should be ready.

The bigger question is.........can he afford too??
As for the name, just refer to the UN, US, and those doing business to see if the refer to Puntland as anything else.

I agree though that the new Sheriff in town needs to take care of his backyard first before engaging in adventures.

I really wish these Hutus save Hutudom first. maybe then their Hutu people might get a real peace and tranquility, I hope this new lord of Dameeero makes his beloved Hutudom country worth some thing ,but as it stands right now, Hutudom is worth nothing and it is a tumor

His approach must be to focus on his own people (down south). He has not gotten the capacity to deal with accomplished multi party democratic government like Somaliland. :sland: :rose:

:som: Good luck.

Setting up a timetable.
Sorting out Al Shabaab through peace or violence
Setting up police task forces in various regions.
Court of law establishments
Gaining the support of the people.
Nation building (cleaning up, securing foreign aid are just phase 1 and a lot of paperwork)
Food aid and shelter for the homeless.
Support the IDP's returning home.
The piracy in Puntland.

Indeed, he should ignore them but the piracy of Puntland would be disturbing his progress such as the Food aid and thus he has to deal directly with the Puntland admin at some stage.
