Xaawo Taako-What do you know about Her

Postby Munique05 » Sun Mar 08, 2009 2:26 am

I can't believe there is no single book written about the most Respected Somali Women in our history, Xaawo Taako,

we know that she was:

She was a women of Courage, Brave & Very Nationalist.
She fought & died for her Motherland, She is a true Hero.
TRUE patriot, and RARE jewel in nation filled with treacherous people

Here's what i found by googling her
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

According to some sources, Xaawo Cismaan (Xaawo Taako) -- Eebba janadiis fardowso haka waraabiyee -- was a Reer Waamo; she was a fierce nationalist in '40s. She preached nationalism to her fellow lady friends, sold off the meagre personal possessions in order to support the then nascent SYL and other nationalist groups. She also exhorted her fellow sisters to sell whatever they can afford, oo xaafad xaafad ayee qaaraanka u aadi jirtay. She finally ku shahiiday bravely in the very struggle, during the Dhagaxtuur massacre.

The martyrs massacred that day, including Xaawo Taako, in early 1948 were protesting against the return of Talyaanis and voicing an immediate independence of Soomaaliya or if not possible, the then new four powers to control Soomaaliya the next decade -- namely Mareykanka, Ruushka, Ingiriiska and Faransiiska. Talyaaniga, being defeated and licking its fresh wounds the just ended world war -- and along with their few dhuuni daba'dhilifs Soomaalis, whom they bribed -- did not like that. They wanted to come back

Hawotako was Somali hero, she died even when she was carrying her son on her back.

I hear she was Sheeqaal, Hawiye also Hero Halane was Hawiye.

Siad Barre wouldn't allow to name any Hawiye heroes on Somali Books.

Do you know the name of the man who fought the Italian, The Daraawiish Dabadhilifis, and the Ethiopians in 1920s.
He was the man who guarded Southern Somalia from Italians and The Daraawiish Dabadhilifis.
That brave man was Hero Indhaceel Daameey.
Do you know the first Somali Pilot that took his life with his war plane @ Ethiopian Military airbase in Northern Ethiopia the base they were attacking from our country.
He destroyed more than 12 planes includes Russian, Cuban and Ethiopian war and Military cargo planes.
His name was Hero Pilot Mohammed Hussein Dhoore (Alaya rahma)
There is more if I could add up for you kid.
