I could never see islam as politics...i believe in the seperation of relgion and goverment due to the fact that when ever relgion butts in the poeple suffer.
you could quote from any passage in the quran but let me tell you that none of it has to do with goverment. Many people who wanted a islamic state (iran,afghan,saudia arbia) were happy to get it but when the relgion goverment expressed it's power the people suffered. Women weren't allowed to work, little girls were not allowed to study and the simplest of crimes like stealing a loaf of bread was met with hands getting cut off or worst heads rolling.

My friend the dark ages have passed and new age has began, somalia has suffered enough please don't make it suffer more.

We must all agree the world has changed post 9/11 the battle lines have been drawn against "terrorist" b.k.a the Islamists or whoever advocates for sharia law Prophet Muhammad pbuh has said "the nations will descend upon you one like when one invites somebody to eat during a meal" then a believer asked "is it because we will be few in number" "no said the Prophet you will be great in number but Allah will remove the fear of you from their hearts and will put a weakness in your hearts" what will the weakness be asked a believer "love of the World and fear of death" so there you have it once u practice ur deen and become pious expect to be attacked(Taliban)dont practice and still be attacked (Saddam)so might as well practice the end times is near
