Back In The Days.

Postby Advo » Mon Mar 23, 2009 3:53 pm

In Somalia, every girl had a guy friend who would show her a good time, take her out, buy her gifts etc and there was absolutely no catch, no sex, no relationship, both of the party had a mutual understanding and it was actually very popular

I doubt this. Even first cousins were trying to get in with their female cousins in Somalia. The idea that some dude would treat this girl to dates without the reasoning behind it doesn't seem possible in Somalia.

Buhodle you right, girls would sneak off with girls and boys would sneak off with boys and they would meet each other in the cinema for a bit and then go home.

Gifted, no relationship...it was strictly no strings attached, you know how guys were the ones working (not all but some) and when they get paid, they would call heblaayo and he would buy her diracs, catars etc and show her a good time until next time; it was a normal thing.

buhoodle, u must be kidding...somalia was no different than the west in the 70's and 80's.

somali women had no rights before MSB (aun), when he changed things the men could no longer look down on women as they had equal right and chance of a bright wealthy life independently or married but the headscarf not being worn came with this which was a negative side of the matter ..

by the way i am extremely uncomfortable with good looking chicks who dont cover themselves walking all over the place, imagine married men will look at you and anyone claiming not to look is lying

Never heard of that… I remember the look on my mums face when one of my male classmates knocked for me at the age of 10… because we had to go into school early for this play thing… Mama Mia lets just say no guy dared coming near me let alone be my friend from that day

Compare this to 30 years before in 1950's, men used to eye their girl and suddenly wrestle them to the ground and mate them like Animals. My awoowe once told me so. There was no laws or anything

Cut that Advo! Somalia waxaa loo rogayba waa dhaqan xumo. I remember in my area alone, there were about 3 brothels. Man I was too young to take advantage of that but I know some of cousins used to frequent there...Beautiful girls in Villa houses...And all you have to do is show them few shillings....Having said that, there was too much Danbi goining on in Somalia the last few years of the central goverment.
