Wetangula said the preparation of Kenya's claim for submission requires the cooperation of its neighbors, Tanzania and Somalia. This is because, the convention provides that states that have adjacent coastlines to each other need to conclude agreements on the delimitation of their maritime boundaries for their territorial sea, exclusive economic zone and continental shelves by means of an agreement in order to achieve an equitable solution", he said

Somalia will be split in two to weaken it and anything of use will be robbed of it, with our assistance..We dont deserve a united country...its very clear.
Somalia as a country is dead, we have no government, unity, brotherhood, love, or respect for law. Let others have the waters its not like we are planning to do anything with it.

Somalis don't have anything and never will.
Your clan will not lift your land out of poverty, nor will supporting illegal actions do it either.
All of this happened because Somalis wanted to be isolated, they wanted to think they were so different and disconnected.
But really, what one skinny does in an international arena will affect the other skinnies. Like it or not.

Though somaliland is not recognized, the world knows somaliland independently operates, so they treat it as such. No one talks about somaliland affairs about with whoever is in charge of the south whether it's aide distrubtion or what not. That is besides the point now. The point is this, the annexation of few KM of southern somalia's coast into Kenya' doesn't effect somaliland's situation. If it does, I like to know how??
secondly, deep south is stateless and inn the wilderness, the Kenyans feel compelled to do this, because they feel that place is no man's land. And quite understandibly so. The gulf on the other hand is very narrow and is continuastly monitored by somaliland.
btw..how you been abti.
”The question of where exactly to draw the offshore border between Kenya and its northern neighbour Somalia has long been a concern for Kenya’s efforts in oil exploration in the Lamu region. However, with no central government or any legitimate governing body, Somalia will not be in a position to file the necessary documentation to secure its coastal areas, and therefore may lose its erritorial waters to Kenya, Djibouti, Ethiopia and Yemen. With the increased incidences of piracy in its waters too, it is likely that the international community will be more than willing to see the waters of the country be fall under the jurisdiction of one of its more stable neighbors. Already, the UN security council has given the green light to states to patrol the waters of Somalia to curb the incidences of piracy. Under the UNCLOS, this would actually not be allowed as it will be encroachment of a sovereign country's territorial waters.”
“Like the other party states to the United Nations Convention of the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), Kenya needs to meet a 19 May 2009 deadline to make submissions to the United Nations (UN) to claim ownership of their oceans beyond 200 nautical miles of their coast line as stated in article 76 of the UNCLOS. Member states are required to show that the continental shelf beyond their coastline extends beyond the 200 nautical mile point. If they can produce the necessary scientific data, and as long as the extra margin is at least 100 nautical miles from the point at which the sea reaches a depth of 2.5km, they will be granted rights over the natural resources on and under the seabed up to 350 nautical miles from land.”
