the word negro literally means black and was used to refer to black africans and people with that kind of heritage but since around 20th century it started to refer to black( african) america.
if we are talking in the present now somalis are not black americas so the word negro woundn't apply.
if i would talk about the pass as in some centuries ago, the word negro would or might apply to somalis to coz it would fit with "the same kind of heritage"

Why wouldn't they be? If you mean "black", "African" people, I would say yes. But that would only lead to confusion because most ignorant people think ALL black africans only look and act a certain way. Usually with negative connotations thanks to europe and the middle east.

I would also say that Somalis suffer from what a lot of black people everywhere suffer from..."house nigger" syndrome. They will openly tell you that they are "apart" from other "Africans", and unwittingly highlight ALL of their "non-african" features with confidence and joy! Anything that is close to european or arab they embrace with open arms! Just like that ignorant a$$ post from intellex above this one.

You will find this in black people from Cape to Cairo and across the ocean in America.

Fortunately for myself, I have studied the history not taught in most schools. This has lead me to embrace ANYTHING that is African about me. It might take years, but if anyone actually opens some history books, they will too. I don't want anything to do with europe or the "middle east" or anywhere else.

Its not house nigger syndrome,
We really are different racial groups to an extent,
you claim to be open minded but fail to see that africa is a continent and
not a single state.
The same way an Indian and a chinese person share asia
africans come in very different racial groups.

non- somali africans when europe was still in the middle ages,
and arabs were seen as inferior, but had grudging respect becuase of Islam.

Stop fibbing it is house N syndrome because we claim to be from Arabia or are mixed with Arabs or half Arabs anything but African. In reality Somalis are among the oldest of africa's indigenous races and hence yes we are true Nigs of the first order.

Of course africans are all different races but somalis, ethiopians, Eritreans, Swahilis(from malindi to Zanzibar) actuallty believe they are arabs/jews etc and despise other africans.
