Trees..

Postby Alas! » Thu May 28, 2009 2:47 am

Last night after doing my part of polluting the world and burning trees, I went into a drug store-- and by drug, I mean the good ones and not the ones I just used to commit genocide with-- against my brain cells. One of my lady friends works at the store, and it was my absolute goal to avoid her. Under no circumstances could I allow her to see me at the state I was in. Five seconds after I entered the store, I spotted her down the first aisle, I wanted to keep walking but I stopped. She was making her way towards me, some 20 feet away behind a counter that veiled everything below her waist. I waved at her, she didn't recognize me, so I took my hat and large sunglasses off, and she waved back. I should have just kept walking but the fact that I needed to avoid her was no longer of great importance to me.

I noticed that she was limping and I was no longer smiling. In fact, I cried deep down inside at how beautiful she was and how tragic her life turned out to be. May be she fell or grew one of those things I can't name right now on her knee. All sorts of things run up and down my head. I felt sorry for her, and wondered who would marry her-- I decided I'd be a good friend and marry her. Then I started wondering about our wedding night and how things might happen. She bent down for a second and walked around the counter-- Perfectly!

Turns out she was carrying something and I couldn't see it. I ran up to her and hugged her for what seemed like a lifetime. We both laughed. I don't think she knew why we were laughing but I knew why I was and that was all that mattered to me.

Later that evening... I found a key with a Garoowe sign in my jeans pocket. My friends claim a girl put it there, but I'll be damned if I'm made a fool of. I spent the better half of the night thinking it belonged to one of my African American friends, till I figured out he probably didn't know where Garoowe was.
