I know this girl who grew up in my hometown yea....her older cousin who was prolly in his mid 20s was molesting her from like 7-10 (3 years) she came clean to her mother first at the age of 17. Her mom told her to not to tell anyone...that it was 'ceeb'...it was her sisters' son afterall and they were neighbours... The girl held it for like 6 months, then told her friend. Her friend were like you have to go the police. The girl did that. He was arrested. The aunt & mother was shocked that the girl went to the police instead of 'dealing with it'

This is exactly what happen to a close friend of mine, and the funny thing is, the girl's parent advised her to be "quite" like hala qariyo, dont tell anyone, wtf?.....I do not understand this hugh hush business in our community, all I know is, anyone does that to my kids, they are as good as dead.

Also, in high school, I went to school with a Somali christian girl, and I always was curious as how she converted, than I found out that her own father used to molest her and when she told, he ran out the country and she was adopted by a devoted christian parents.

This happens and we rarely hear about it because of silly "family reputation".
