I dont get how some of my co-workers who make way more money than me, are complaining daily about their finances. Malin walba complaining aye ku jiiran. They have houses and cars that the payment for them have to be counted to the penny, I mean there is no room for them to even enjoy a cone of ice cream after lunch, b/c that how tight money is for them.
I even noticed many somalis are going the same route, where they lead a lifestyle that they can't really afford, waxeyna ku qasbanyaheen inay caruurtoda food shelf-ka kuga so qadaan cuunto, so the other payments are taken care of. Uff wallahi if one can't manage his money or be humble enough to be content with just making a comfortable life with what he has, wa dhib miraan nolaasha.

Majority of the middle class in America can barely save for their kid's college fund. But although owning a home and decent car is fine and dandi, it becomes an issues, when one finances a car or home that isn't in their budget. I do agree with you in that they tend to think of their future and the future of their kids. Most Somalis live in filthy neighbourhoods, yet drive cars that cost 50% of their monthly income. I personally, rather drive a trashy car than live in a trashy house. I

Its a fact of life really...the more money you make the more peopl expect things out from you.
You cant a man/woman with money and NOT drive a nice car or have a NICE house...
And not to mention the responsability you have when you have money and no married and everyone thinks you have money coming out the ying yang so they think you can pay for their trip to guatamala because your their big sister ...

Life will be utterly dull if one did not have something to complain about. They complain about their money problems and you complain about their complaints. Everybody is happy (or maybe not).

This drama is not isolated for the Gaalo. I have seen many Somalis that don't even eat properly just to save money to buy houses back home. Children were starved in places like UK and the welfare money goes to Hagbad or Shalongo inorder to buy houses in Dubai and Back home..Kolkaasay isugu faanaan...anigaa kaa guri weyn etc.

Places like Virginia, some folks put themselves into heavy burden by buying houses they can't afford and they ended making their kids Xamaali just to pay these very very high mortgages We are talking of like $5,000.00 a month

But what can we say..It is their choice...Wallee but I would never do that to myself..
