Will the democrats have the vote for Healthcare reform with this passing? Will his state governor appoint another democrat in time for the vote in the senate?

Massachusetts is a blue state, of course another Democrat will be in his place.

Too bad he didn't live to see the outcome of the HealthCare Reform. It was truly a passion of his to have universal health care. Its also my believe that he is the reason why many Americans got to be comfortable getting behind Obama in the elections. :mrgreen:

Is the governor a democrat? The process of nominating replacement may take months even if there was a democrat. The new senator will miss the vote on the healthcare bill.

Deval Patrick is one of the few AA governors and he is a Democrat.

The Dems still retain a filibuster-proof 59 seat majority out of the 99 filled seats in the Senate
